Emanuel Law Group filed a lawsuit Wednesday for a courthouse janitor who alleges a sheriff’s deputy pointed a loaded gun at him in a San Mateo County courtroom while making racially intimidating remarks filed a lawsuit Wednesday, suffering post-traumatic stress disorder form the incident.
The plaintiff, Jose Verdusco, has been unable to return to his job since Deputy Andy Mar, working as Superior Court bailiff, allegedly aimed his service weapon at Verdusco in a mostly empty coutroom and asked the custodian if he wanted “some South Carolina justice.” The incident occurred April 13, 2014, nine days after a white police officer fatally shot a black citizen in North Charleston.
